According to a YouGov survey, 77% of gaming influencer fans follow their favourite personalities on YouTube, making it the most-used platform. Second place is mobile-first app Instagram, attracting 60% of fans.
Twitch is used by 23% of gaming influencer followers, and so almost 3x more likely to be used by audiences seeking out gaming influencers compared to other influencer categories.

Twitch attracted the largest audience for live streams, averaging between 2.4 and 2.6 million users across all quarters. On the other hand, gaming live streams on YouTube attracted between 487k and 532.6k users on average.

The highest earning gaming channel in 2022 was interestingly that of a “family gaming team”, FGTeeV. The US-based channel has amassed an estimated $47.5m in lifetime earnings.
